Comedy as the icebreaker for a hard clinical conversation

Supporting the instruments that look deepest into the universe

Before I told science stories, I kept science running. As a University of Arizona contractor at MGIO base camp, on the same mountain as the medical center I later branded, I maintained web content, supported the observatory crews, and kept the IP camera network running for the Vatican Advanced Technology Telescope, the Heinrich Hertz Submillimeter Telescope, and the Large Binocular Telescope, the most powerful telescope on Earth. Standing that close to people searching the universe changes how you tell their stories.
